At Sea crossing the Bay of Biscay

 14th September 2023

Sunrise at Sea (with very flat seas)

The Bay of Biscay is famous for foul weather conditions for mariners with gale force winds and huge seas very common. Our Captain spent most of his midday address telling us tales of this infamous stretch of water, and the terror it has bought to seafarers over the centuries.

Today, it is like a millpond, light breezes and dead flat seas. Our wonderful run of weather continues and looks like our visit to Porto tomorrow will continue to be blessed with this unseasonal weather pattern.

It has been a pretty uneventful day, sighting quite a few ships going back and forth, not wildlife and other than doing our 15 laps of the deck, the other highlight was the Port lecture for Porto.

Overall a very relaxing day.

Sunset with stronger winds and a bit more swell, but very pleasant

Arrival at Leixoes Port in Portugal tomorrow morning is scheduled for 8 am.
